Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 (7 am - 7:30 pm) Experience: Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience required License: RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Must-Have: Ability to read, write, and speak English. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies calmly. Excellent time management skills. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Description: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of caregivers. They ensure that patients and families receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. The role practices in a clinical environment supported by leaders and guided by a shared governance model. Nursing competencies are derived from these models and supported by organizational values. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards as outlined by the nursing association. As part of the patient services team, the nurse must advocate for the patient and adhere to system policies. Core responsibilities include evaluating patient care using the nursing process. The nurse provides relationship-based, patient-centered care, adapting to cultural diversity. They coordinate care through effective partnerships and keep patients informed of their care plans. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is vital to ensure the delivery of safe, quality patient care. The nurse participates in performance improvement initiatives that include all stakeholders. Professional development is a requirement, including assessments and ongoing education. The nurse serves as a preceptor or mentor to ensure a qualified workforce. Promoting evidence-based practice and nursing research is encouraged. The nurse participates in data collection to enhance clinical practices. Proactive planning for patient care across the care continuum is essential. Participation in developing protocols and procedures is encouraged when needed. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
