Actuarial Consulting Director, Pricing

Consulting Director – Commercial Pricing At CNA you have a clear vision of where your career can go. Commercial Pricing has an opening for a Consulting Director on the Large Casualty Pricing team. This is a senior level individual contributor responsible for performing analyses on loss‑rated and loss‑sensitive casualty business across Commercial, including workers compensation, general liability, and commercial auto. Responsibilities Provide actuarial guidance and business insights related to Large Casualty business. Build strong relationships with peers, business partners, and leaders across multiple functions to influence pricing strategy through actionable insights and analytics. Work with senior management to develop and implement pricing strategies for Large Casualty. Drive innovation in products through thought leadership. Monitor profitability and trends for Large Casualty and share results with recommendations. Participate with senior leadership in the development and implementation of actuarial policies, business strategies, and goals, regularly evaluating performance against goals, and holding self‑accountable for achieving desired results. Stay up to date in actuarial expertise and industry trends to guide decisions related to line of business. Produce highly technical actuarial analyses and reports, delivering findings presentations to senior management. Qualifications 10+ years of related work experience, typically a minimum of ten years. Fellowship accreditation (FCAS) is preferred. Proven ability to influence business partners at various levels. Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve complex situations. Experience exercising professional judgement and assuming responsibility for decisions with impact on business and quality of service. Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and lead teams. Creative and effective change management with the ability to manage through ambiguous and challenging problems, leading through change. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent. Compensation and Benefits Base pay range for this role in Illinois, New York, California is $155,000 to $220,500, with national base pay range $97,000 to $189,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
