Technical Accounting Manager

We Do Consulting DifferentlyThe Technical Accounting Manager is a key member of the Controller organization, responsible for evaluating and establishing the company's position on complex accounting matters. This role partners closely with executive leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and scalable financial reporting.The position is highly project-driven and offers significant exposure to strategic initiatives, including M&A transactions, policy development, and evolving accounting standards. The position has one direct report, along with access to shared staff resources.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and interpret new and evolving accounting standards, assessing their impact on the organization and leading implementation effortsDevelop and formally document the company's position on complex technical accounting issues, including preparation of supporting memorandaPresent technical accounting conclusions to senior leadership, external auditors, and other key stakeholdersServe as the primary accounting lead for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactionsOwn and continuously refine the company's global accounting policies to ensure consistency and compliance with U.S. GAAPAct as a key internal consultant to cross-functional teams, including Tax, FP&A, and General Ledger, on technical accounting mattersOversee accounting for complex areas such as stock-based compensation and lease accounting, including related process improvementsPartner with financial reporting teams to ensure accurate and timely issuance of GAAP-compliant financial statements across global entitiesSupport audit processes by coordinating technical accounting positions and responding to auditor inquiriesDrive process improvements and scalability initiatives within technical accounting and broader controllership functionsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA strongly preferred)6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting experienceStrong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with complex accounting topics (e.g., equity, leases, M&A)Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and resolve unstructured accounting issuesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior stakeholdersHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentSalary Range: $130,000-$170,000 per yearCandidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.About BRGBRG combines world-leading academic credentials with world-tested business expertise and purpose-built emerging technologies.
