Location: Travel through service areas of Buncombe County * Develops professional and clinical skills through attendance at staff development meetings, pertinent educational activities, and professional affiliations. * Participates in the review process and the agency performance improvement program. * Provides patient education, medication administration, wound dressing changes, and ostomy care as directed by the RN and ordered by the physician. * Displays flexibility in accepting assignment changes and participates in weekend/after-hours coverage and call rotation. * Reports pertinent observations to the attending physician and RN, and implements changes in the patient care plan as directed. * Communicates changes to the appropriate members of the home health care team. * Demonstrates effective communication skills with all team members, patients, and families. * Maintains clinical record information in accordance with established standards and within established time frames. * Provides direct patient care responsibilities for assigned patients in an efficient, organized manner under the direction of the RN. * Performs treatments within their scope of training and administers medications to assigned patients. * Assesses patients during clinical check-in, documents pertinent medical information and vital signs, and assesses for signs of abuse or neglect using age-specific guidelines. * Administers treatments, medications, and follow-up assessments ordered by the provider, verifying as needed, and responds appropriately in clinical emergencies and triage situations. * Performs diagnostic and occupational medicine testing, including EKG, spirometry, audiometry, titmus, and pulse oximetry, and complete forensic testing collections in accordance with established guidelines. * Collects data specific to the age of the patient and contributes to their plan of care. * Receives, verifies, and implements physician orders, ensuring orders taken by the LPN are co-signed by an RN. * Other duties as assigned.
