Position Summary The Part-Time Middle School Boys Basketball Coach develops student-athletes through Christ-centered coaching, skill development, and competitive excellence. This role leads practices and games while building basketball fundamentals, teamwork, discipline, and character. The ideal candidate is relational, dependable, and committed to developing young men on and off the court while supporting the mission and culture of Covenant Christian Academy Athletics. Key Role Responsibilities Coaching & Student Development Lead the Middle School Boys Basketball team in practices and games. Teach basketball fundamentals, individual skills, and team concepts. Develop young men through Christlike character, discipline, teamwork, and competitive excellence. Build strong relationships that support spiritual, athletic, and personal growth. Create a positive team culture aligned with the Cougar Way and the overall Boys Basketball program. Program Operations Plan and lead organized, purposeful practices and game preparation. Communicate effectively with players, families, the Boys Basketball Head Coach, and Athletic Department. Assist with equipment, uniforms, schedules, and other team needs. Follow all school, league, and athletic department policies and expectations. Represent Covenant Christian Academy with professionalism and integrity. Qualifications A mature and growing faith in Jesus Christ consistent with Covenant Christian Academy's Statement of Faith. A passion for mentoring and developing student-athletes through Christian education. Strong knowledge of the game of basketball and the ability to teach its fundamentals. Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills. Dependable, professional, and committed to teamwork. Previous coaching or competitive basketball experience preferred. Desired Outcomes Student-athletes grow in faith, character, confidence, and basketball ability. Players develop strong fundamentals, basketball IQ, teamwork, and competitive habits. The team reflects excellence, humility, discipline, and Christ-centered leadership. Practices and games are organized, purposeful, and development-focused.
