FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is seeking an experienced, creative, and energetic News Producer to join our winning team. What You’ll Do Lead Daily Production: Responsible for all aspects of assigned newscasts—story selection, editorial decisions, and final delivery. Create Compelling Content: Write, edit, and produce engaging stories and segments for broadcast and digital. Coordinate Coverage: Work with the directors, assignment desk, editors, on‑air staff, and field crews to manage live shots, visuals, and supporting materials. Drive Digital Integration: Collaborate with digital and news teams to ensure stories reach audiences on all platforms. Contribute Editorially: Participate in daily news and production meetings and help shape newsroom coverage strategies. Other Duties: Perform additional duties as directed. What We’re Looking For Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field. 3+ years of experience in a medium‑to‑large market. Editorial Judgment: Proven ability to identify, prioritize, and craft impactful stories with strong writing and storytelling skills. Technical Expertise: Familiarity with newsroom computer systems, live production tools, and non‑linear editing. Organization & Problem Solving: Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with sound decision‑making. Creativity & Collaboration: Innovative thinker who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. Professionalism: Maintains composure under pressure and contributes positively to newsroom culture. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, is $94,000.00–$97,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
