A cutting-edge spin-off from a world-renowned European academic institution is working where Artificial Intelligence, DNA and Oncology meet. Its science has been published in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine. The company is completing its Advisory Board and is now opening the AI Seat

The company is led by a US CEO with decades of experience in senior leadership positions across big pharma and CROs. The CEO has a track record of commercializing innovative assets across several therapeutic areas. The company is also supported, in different capacities, by President- and CEO-level leaders from big pharma and advanced analytics, alongside a Clinical Advisory Board of leading oncologists.

This is an Advisory Board position involving periodic strategic engagement rather than full-time employment.

The Vision

Cancer medicine is being reshaped by three converging trends:

• Precision medicine: moving from treating the average patient to choosing the right treatment for each individual.
• Reading cancer through DNA: DNA, and the chemical marks on it, carry a living record of how a cancer behaves and how the body responds to it.
• Artificial intelligence: models that find patterns in DNA sequences and in the interactions between a medicine, the tumor, the surrounding tissue and the immune system, to help win the fight against cancer.

The company sits where these three trends meet. Its ambition is a platform that reads a patient's DNA from a blood sample and uses AI to guide decisions across the course of cancer care: before, during and after treatment.

The AI Seat brings an independent perspective on the questions that will define AI in cancer medicine over the next decade:

• Foundation models for biology: how DNA and epigenetic foundation models will change the way cancer is read from a blood sample.
• Multimodal AI: bringing together blood-based DNA signals, imaging, pathology and clinical history into a single, clinically meaningful prediction.
• AI that travels: making models perform reliably across hospitals, countries, patient populations and sequencing technologies.
• Learning diagnostics: how AI that improves over time fits emerging regulation, from the FDA's evolving framework for adaptive AI to the EU AI Act.
• Privacy-preserving AI: learning across hospitals worldwide without moving patient data.
• AI in drug development: using response prediction to select patients and design smarter clinical trials with pharmaceutical partners.
• Lasting advantage: where enduring value sits in AI-driven medicine, whether in data, models or clinical evidence.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have held a Chief AI Officer, Vice President, Senior Vice President, President or equivalent leadership position, with responsibility for AI strategy. This should be within a leading technology, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or diagnostics organization, or a leading AI research institution.
