Tech - Sterile Processing Tech

Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for sterilizing, cleaning, and handling surgical instruments and medical equipment to ensure patient safety and maintain infection control standards. This role requires adherence to hospital protocols and efficient coordination with clinical staff.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, sterilize, and inspect surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate techniques and devices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and equipment logs.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile supplies for procedures.
• Follow infection control protocols and comply with regulatory standards to prevent contamination.
• Assist in managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
• Complete required training modules and certifications prior to start date.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active PA or Compact license.
• Possess current AHA certifications.
• Demonstrate at least one year of sterile processing experience in a healthcare setting.
• Be willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if required.
• Understand and comply with hospital safety, infection control, and compliance standards.
• Be able to complete fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs within 24–48 hours of signing.
