The Manager, Deployment Itinerary Planning will be responsible for providing itineraries for our Expedition and Ocean Fleet by managing the development and rollout of deployment and itineraries for all marketing products and ships. Design and develop new itineraries, as prescribed by the Senior Director and Leadership, for deployment purposes./ppResponsibilities:/pulliFulfill the goal of providing itineraries, one of the 5 key areas outlined in the Company Profile./liliCreate compelling itineraries with particular emphasis on commercial profitability, safety, operational feasibility, and operating cost efficiency - and with a specific focus on Expedition itinerary planning/liliAssist in fuel conservation efforts related to deployment itinerary planning, including calculation and analysis of fleet fuel consumption data./liliDevelop new itineraries, as prescribed by the Senior Director and VP Expeditions, and offer critical support to the Charter Incentives department./liliResearch existing and potential destinations, including all technical nautical aspects, marketing prospects, guest experience, and costs, with an emphasis on Expedition locations./liliResponsible for performing port assessment in collaboration with Marine Operations and Port Operations and completing approval processes for all new Seabourn destinations./liliAttend committee meetings and planning meetings as needed to fulfill this role./liliManage all aspects of Deployment Itinerary planning data including mission-critical systems such as MXP./liliManage all Deployment Itinerary planning communications./liliManage the development, introduction and implementation of Deployment Itinerary planning technology and innovation./liliCreate new business process./liliAttend conferences and forums as a representative of Seabourn Cruise Lines as needed to develop and fulfill this role (some travel required)./liliProvide deployment optimization methodologies utilizing forecasting tools such as DPM. Create new business processes and roadmaps as needed to achieve Deployment and Itinerary Planning goals./liliPlanning, including fuel consumption, port assessments, and nautical safety./liliInnovative Solutions: Develop new itineraries and business processes to address unexpected problems and improve operational efficiency./liliDecision Making: Make operational decisions to ensure smooth daily activities, considering commercial, marketing, financial, nautical, safety, environmental, and other operational aspects./liliRisk Management: Perform nautical safety and risk assessments for all deployments and itineraries, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations./liliCommercial Profitability: Create compelling worldwide itineraries that emphasize commercial profitability, safety, operational feasibility, and cost efficiency./liliFuel Conservation: Assist in fuel conservation efforts by analyzing fleet fuel consumption data and implementing strategies to reduce costs./liliDeployment Optimization: Utilize forecasting tools to optimize deployment methodologies, enhancing the overall efficiency of the fleet./liliTechnology and Innovation: Manage the development and implementation of new technologies and innovations in deployment and itinerary planning./liliSubject Matter Expertise: Act as the Deployment and Itinerary Planning Matter Expert within the company and the industry, providing guidance and support to various departments./liliCommunication: Manage deployment and itinerary planning communications, including postings on eFleet, and effectively communicate with both shoreside and shipboard personnel./liliCollaboration: Collaborate with both shoreside and shipboard teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of itineraries./liliMentorship: Provide mentorship and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation./li/ulpRequirements/pulliBachelors degree in Navigation and/or Nautical Engineering./liliLicensed navigational officer (All Ships)./liliMinimum 7+ years of experience as a senior navigation officer, preferably on a Seabourn Cruise Line or Holland America Line vessel Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent professional experience./liliA thorough understanding of cruise destinations. The ability to evaluate a destinations qualification from multiple perspectives and disciplines./liliSkilled in the usage of nautical (planning) software and hardware, such as Transas and MXP./liliExcellent communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to be persuasive./liliAbility and confidence to speak to large audiences./liliExcellent computer skills, advanced proficiency in Excel (formulaic)./liliStrong organizational and management skills with attention to detail./li/ulpTravel: Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely/ppWork Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential./ppPhysical Demands: Remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time, reasonable adjustments will be offered./ppThis position is classified as in-office.
