Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The PET/CT Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for performing high-quality PET/CT imaging studies for oncology patients while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to radiation safety standards. This individual will operate PET/CT imaging equipment, administer radiopharmaceuticals, collaborate with physicians and care teams, and deliver accurate imaging to support cancer diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing patient care.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Operate PET/CT imaging equipment to perform diagnostic studies for oncology patients
• Prepare, administer, and document radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols
• Review patient history and physician orders to ensure appropriate imaging procedures
• Position patients and acquire high-quality PET/CT images
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and provide education regarding the imaging process
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
• Perform quality control checks and basic equipment troubleshooting
• Accurately document procedures and maintain imaging records
• Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, oncologists, nursing staff, and other clinical personnel
• Ensure a positive patient experience while delivering exceptional clinical care

Required Skills & Experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from an AMA-accredited program OR Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology from an AMA-accredited program with PET/CT Certification
• CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT (N) certification
• Hands-on experience operating PET/CT imaging equipment
• Experience administering radiopharmaceuticals and following radiation safety protocols
• Strong patient care and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in an oncology-focused environment


Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Previous oncology imaging experience
• Experience working in an outpatient cancer center
• PET/CT experience in a high-volume imaging environment
• Additional imaging modality certifications
• Experience with a variety of PET/CT platforms and imaging equipment
• Strong understanding of quality assurance and regulatory compliance requirements
