Fleet Service Technician

FLEET MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Pay rate: $24.78–$27.53 Shift: 2nd or 3rd Shift (2:00 PM–10:30 PM or 10:00 PM–6:30 AM) Responsibilities Perform a variety of duties relating to the upkeep and maintenance of company transportation equipment. Fuel and wash tractors and trailers, check fluid levels, lights, and tires. Change oil, filters, and tires; lubricate equipment. Conduct minor repairs that do not require a certified mechanic’s knowledge. Complete required paperwork according to company policy and guidelines. Input information into the onboard computer systems. Drive tractors from fuel lane to fuel island and perform duties on the checklist while on the fuel island. Follow company procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Perform all job duties with honesty and integrity. Skills, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions Ability to reach, lift, and work on objects weighing up to 100 pounds; push and pull heavy equipment. Manual dexterity, coordination, and balance to work both at ground level and high places. Ability to stand, walk, and work in close quarters, prone, awkward positions, and occasionally for lengthy periods; drive a truck tractor and 53‑foot or double combination semi‑trailer; operate heavy garage repair equipment and work on ladders. Maintain mental alertness and good vision to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities. Exposure to hazards related to equipment, work areas, tools, welding equipment, presses, and other power equipment; exposure to large amounts of water and cleaning solvents when washing trucks and trailers. Work in temperature‑controlled environments and exposure to outside elements while performing outdoors daily; can apply required safety knowledge.
