Accountant/Tax Preparer

Full-Time

$55,000 to $85,000 per year (based on experience and certifications)

Position requires the ability to professionally complete the following tasks:

- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE in preparing and filing corporate, partnership and individual income tax returns for both federal and state agencies.

- Record client financial transactions including posting to accounting software from such source documents as bank statements, invoices, cash receipts or other documents. Also reconcile accounts to ensure their accuracy.

- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions and reconciling entries

- Prepare and report financial information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing client accounts

- Maintain and balance general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries, prepare trial balance and reconciling errors

- Assist clients with everyday accounting needs (which may exceed the scope of completing financial transactions or reports).

- Perform detailed research/adjustment functions

- Prepare period ending profit & loss and balance sheet statements

- Complete sales tax & payroll tax reports to be filed with multiple governmental agencies

- Generate federal reports 1099 and W-2

- Properly organize reports and other documents into client files both electronically and manually

- Use computers and other electronic communication devices as needed to complete the tasks mentioned above

- Answer office telephones and read emails in both English and Spanish

- Generate emails that communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner

Applicant must have the following capabilities:

- Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers

- Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly

- Regularly work on repetitive tasks

- Regularly see details of objects that are less than a few feet away

- Regularly speak clearly so listeners can understand

- Regularly understand the speech of another person

- Regularly speak and communicate in both English and Spanish

- Frequently bend to file and maintain files

- Occasionally lift 5-15 pounds
