Government Affairs Lead

Overview GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Serves as a contributor and project manager in government affairs, health policy, and other areas assigned by management. Supports policy, business, and product initiatives across Medicare Advantage and Commercial lines of business. Provides insights on regulatory, economic, and healthcare system changes, helping leadership understand their impact on strategy and performance. Manage initiatives, projects, and work plans with external advisers, business organizations, multi-departmental committees, and translate complex policy information into clear, actionable insights to support decision-making. Essential Functions Analyze regulatory, economic, and healthcare system changes, identifying key impacts and insights for the organization. Translate policy and analytical findings into practical, easy-to-understand recommendations for leadership. Support the development and execution of government affairs and health policy initiatives aligned with business priorities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate policy insights into business initiatives and strategies. Support the development of policy positions and responses to regulatory changes. Monitor regulatory and policy trends and contribute to forward-looking insights and planning. Research and interpret federal (including CMS) and local regulations, translating findings into clear, concise executive summaries. Own the execution and timely delivery of work plans related to regulatory business processes and other assigned topics. Develop briefings, reports, and presentations that support executive decision-making. Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations for leadership, simplifying complex information into structured messages. Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. May carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned, according to the requirements of education and experience contained in this document. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Health Services Administration, Public Policy, or related field. At least five (5) years of experience, preferably in project management, process management, government affairs, health policy, healthcare strategy, or related fields, with strong expertise in healthcare economics, regulatory analysis, and policy impact assessment. “Proven experience may be replaced by previously established requirements.” Certifications / Licenses: Not required. Other: Proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and presentation tools. Demonstrated ability to support or influence Medicare Advantage and/or Commercial health plan strategy is strongly preferred.
