Certified Medical Assistant (Part-Time)

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM One Sunday per month (8:00 AM to 2:00 PM) One weekday evening event per month at the office (4:30 PM to 6:30 PM) Pay: $25 per hour (hourly, non-exempt position) Benefits: Sick and safe leave accrual per Maryland law. No additional benefits at this time. The Role We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented medical assistant to support both patient care and the clinical operations of the practice. You will room patients, perform clinical tasks, and manage records, orders, prior authorizations, supplies, and compliance tracking. All duties are performed under the direction and supervision of Dr. Nadia, and all clinical decisions remain with her. Responsibilities Clinical Patient Care Room patients, obtain vital signs, and update intake documentation in Elation Perform venipuncture and prepare specimens for Labcorp and Quest Perform ECGs and assist Dr. Nadia with exams and in-office procedures Maintain clean, stocked, and safe exam rooms Medical Records Management Obtain signed records release forms from patients via Elation or SDT Fax records requests to prior PCPs, specialists, and hospitals, and log fax confirmations with timestamps in Elation Download incoming records from e-fax, name files to practice convention, and upload to the patient Document Vault Abstract medical history, surgical history, past labs, and current medications into the Elation summary for Dr. Nadia's review Orders, Refills, and Prior Authorizations Enter lab orders using established Elation order sets and transmit to the patient's preferred Labcorp or Quest location, or print paper requisitions on request Prepare radiology requisitions (DEXA, mammography, pelvic MRI), attach clinical notes, and fax to imaging centers Prepare refill requests by reconciling against active medications in Elation and route to Dr. Nadia for approval Complete electronic prior authorizations through CoverMyMeds (Cigna, CareFirst, Aetna, and others) and follow through to resolution Build Fullscript supplement plans per Dr. Nadia's recommendations and send links to patients Supply and Inventory Management (monthly) Conduct physical inventory counts using the Clinical Inventory Log Audit clinical supplies (Pap and blood collection supplies, BP cuffs, probe covers, ECG electrodes, MOLST forms) against minimum thresholds Reorder through Labcorp Link, lab representatives, Amazon Business, and Staples, and log tracking numbers Compliance and Credential Tracking (monthly) Maintain Dr. Nadia's CME/MOC tracker and license renewal dates Maintain OSHA logs, training records, and safety checks, including eyewash station and emergency equipment Track BLS and ACLS certification dates for all clinical staff Review Elation lab order sets and flag diagnostic code updates for Dr. Nadia's approval Community Events Support one monthly Sunday event (8:00 AM to 2:00 PM) and one monthly evening event at the office (4:30 PM to 6:30 PM), including setup, patient check-in, and on-site assistance Required Qualifications Active medical assistant certification: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), or NCMA (NCCT) Current BLS certification 2+ years of experience as a medical assistant in an outpatient clinical setting Proficiency in venipuncture, vital signs, and ECGs Hands-on experience with an EHR and electronic prior authorizations Excellent organization and follow-through; you close loops without being reminded Working knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA safety practices Preferred Prior experience in primary care, OB/GYN, or concierge medicine Experience with Elation Health, CoverMyMeds, and Fullscript Comfort with Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets) Why Join Us A calm, unrushed practice where medicine is done the way it should be Four-day work week with predictable daytime hours Direct mentorship from a physician who values your judgment and growth Opportunity to grow in this role and move to full time as the practice grows #J-18808-Ljbffr
