Your Responsibilities

• Performing thorough patient assessments, recommending diagnostic tests, and developing customized care plans
• Evaluating and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions independently or in collaboration with physicians (according to your credentials)
• Instructing patients and their families on wellness, illness prevention, and disease management strategies
• Prescribing medications and therapies within your scope of practice

Education Essentials

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Certifications Required

• Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Texas
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days
