Senior Electrical Engineer OpportunityOdin Dynamics is a defense technology company founded in 2025 to build autonomous underwater vehicles that will define the next era of undersea warfare. The company is delivering capable, resilient autonomous systems that strengthen the strategic advantage of the United States and its allied navies.This is a greenfield program. The platform is being built from scratch. Engineers here will take incomplete requirements, early hardware, and difficult technical constraints and turn them into production-ready electrical systems that survive and perform in the field. Decisions are driven by physics, test data, and product outcomes — not inherited convention or documentation volume.Odin Dynamics is hiring multiple Senior Electrical Engineers to serve as Responsible Engineers for critical electrical subsystems across the platform. Each engineer will own one of three focus areas:High-Speed Digital Electronics — embedded compute carrier boards, processor and microcontroller interfaces, high-speed digital design, controlled impedance, signal integrity, and power distribution for vehicle electronics.Motor Controls and Drive Electronics — motor-controller and power-stage hardware, gate drivers, current and voltage sensing, protection circuits, microcontroller-based control boards, and integration with firmware and vehicle-level controls.Batteries and Power Electronics — battery-management hardware, cell monitoring, balancing and protection circuits, power-distribution electronics, power switching, sequencing, fault detection, and integration with power electronics and vehicle-level systems.Candidates apply to a common requisition and Odin Dynamics will determine the best area of focus through the interview process. The company is looking for engineers with deep expertise in at least one area who are comfortable working across electrical architecture, schematic design, PCB layout, embedded systems, power electronics, manufacturing, and test.What You'll DoServe as the Responsible Engineer for a major electrical subsystem, owning it from requirements and architecture through schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, bring-up, validation, production support, and failure investigationDevelop greenfield electrical hardware from initial requirements through field-tested, production-ready implementationDesign and review multilayer PCBs including high-speed digital interfaces, controlled-impedance routing, mixed-signal circuitry, high-current power paths, power sequencing, clocking, reset behavior, grounding, and board-level power distributionBring up new boards in the lab and work closely with embedded software engineers to validate hardware and software integrationDebug board-level and system-level issues involving power rails, clocks, resets, signal integrity, noise, thermal behavior, communications, and intermittent faults using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, thermal cameras, and related lab equipmentDevelop and execute board-level validation tests, integration tests, and system-level testsSupport production testing, investigate failures on deployed hardware, and own corrective improvements throughout the product lifecycleCoordinate with PCB fabricators, assembly vendors, component suppliers, and manufacturing teams to transition designs from prototype to productionMentor other engineers and contribute to technical reviews while remaining hands-onSupport field testing and sea trials when requiredYou Should HaveDeep practical expertise in at least one of: high-speed digital electronics, motor-control or drive electronics, or battery management and power-distribution hardwareStrong schematic design and PCB layout experience across complex multilayer boardsExperience with high-speed digital design, controlled impedance, mixed-signal design, high-current power, or dense embedded compute boardsExperience designing hardware that integrates tightly with embedded Linux, bare-metal firmware, RTOS-based firmware, sensors, actuators, and vehicle-level controlsExperience debugging integrated hardware and software systems using lab equipment and structured root-cause analysisExperience developing board-level validation plans, executing tests, and driving design improvements from resultsExperience supporting production test, manufacturing transition, failure analysis, and sustaining engineeringDemonstrated ability to work from first principles, make progress with incomplete information, and rapidly iterate between design, implementation, testing, and refinementU.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearanceApproximately 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience preferred, though demonstrated technical depth and a record of delivering difficult hardware systems matter more than yearsNice to HaveExperience taking an electrical subsystem from blank sheet through design, test, and refinement cycles into production or operational deploymentBackground in autonomous vehicles, underwater systems, UAVs, robotics, aerospace, automotive, industrial controls, or other tightly integrated electromechanical productsExperience designing electronics for harsh or demanding environmentsSignal-integrity and power-integrity analysis experienceExperience with motor-control electronics, inverter power stages, gate drivers, and thermal managementBattery-management hardware experience including cell balancing, protection circuits, and fault-state designExperience working with PCB fabrication, assembly, and supply chain teams to move hardware from prototype to productionCompensation and BenefitsBase Salary: $160,000 - $200,000, depending on experience, plus equity and commission.
