The Role

Hackstone is looking for a cinematographer/video editor. You'll give creative input, shoot the footage,

edit projects from first assembly through final delivery. "Final" is used here in its traditional sense,

including "Final_v2" through "Final_v6".

You'll work closely with our creative, strategy, and production teams to develop concepts, plan

shoots, capture great footage, and edit projects through final delivery.

What You'll Do

Job Summary:

• Pre-production: technical planning, location scout, work with the producer to budget crew and gear, have opinions about production elements and fight for them
• Help shape the visual direction of projects
• Film in multiple styles: narrative, documentary, corporate, social, product
• Take on different production roles on a film set including (but not limited to) DP, Cinematographer, and AC
• Work confidently with different cameras, lighting setups, lenses, and production equipment
• Post-production: edit, color correct, general After Effects titles, sfx, audio mix & master, output for various mediums including broadcast and digital
• Drone certification preferred, or willingness to get certified
• Estimated shooting/editing ratios will vary, but plan on 50/50
• This is a Baltimore-based, in-office position and does require out-of-town travel.

This position is full-time, with benefits (health, vision, 401K). Salary based on experience. Position is

on-location in our office in Baltimore.

The salary depends on your skill level and experience but we'll start here: $60K-80K

About Hackstone

Hackstone is a creative video production shop based in Baltimore. We do three things really well:

brand films, strategic organic video content, and performance ads. We also make series

entertainment for streamers, creative commercial campaigns, short films, and animations, but there

wasn't a good way to make that many things sound good in a sentence.
