Quality Assurance Technician 1

Quality Assurance Technician 1 – 3rd Shift (Monday‑Friday, 11:00p.m. – 7:30a.m.). Hourly pay: $33.21. Location: Victorville, CA, manufacturing A&H Laundry Detergent and A&H Cat Litter. Role Summary This position has overall responsibility for all facets of quality in a lean manufacturing and distribution environment. Supports the packaging lines to ensure plant quality requirements are met while achieving maximum safety and line efficiency with minimal downtime. Duties and Responsibilities Promote a safety culture and awareness within the plant, adhering to all corporate and plant quality procedures. Maintain adherence to the C & D Control Plan, including quality checks, testing frequency, sample plan, and product compliance. Execute quality control methods for line inspection and batch testing, including liquid changeover compliance and line startups. Participate in quality control and quality audits for packaging lines. Handle customer complaints and control non‑conformances (out of specification material or product). Use laboratory equipment to perform basic chemical testing such as viscosity, specific gravity, pH, solids, color/odor. Learn and utilize basic statistical quality/process control applications. Collect quality inspection records from packaging lines and maintain record files. Evaluate quality data and plant process capabilities, suggesting opportunities for continuous improvement or specification changes. Incorporate lean manufacturing principles such as 5S and key TPS elements. Enter daily data into the computer system as required for lab and quality data. Work overtime and weekends as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Support and adhere to all plant safety policies, wearing appropriate PPE. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Requirements High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of industry experience as a quality inspector or technician in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, preferably in consumer‑packaged goods. Strong computer skills (SAP, WMS, Agile, Minitab, MS Office Suite). In‑depth knowledge of production operations, equipment, materials, workflow, and laboratory operations. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to read and understand material and product specifications in English. Ability to work with measuring equipment such as calipers and gauges. Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Education, Training, and Experience Requirements Associate’s degree. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Critical thinking skills and innovative problem‑solving ability. Ability to take and follow directions. Physical Requirements Lifting: Floor to Waist, up to shoulder; Cases up to chest level; Lifting pallets. Carrying: Empty bottles, product (2–300oz. bottle of soap), broom, mop. Stepping/Climbing: Up and down stairs over line. Pulling: Bundles 5–10ft. up to 25 times per day (35lb). Breaking down boxes and handling corrugate.
