Join Our Inpatient Gastroenterology Program

We are thrilled to invite a Board Certified/Board Eligible gastroenterologist to join our inpatient gastroenterology team at a prominent academic medical center located in Eastern Tennessee. The ideal candidate will possess experience in ERCP, while EUS experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Position Overview

This role as an Inpatient Academic Gastroenterologist encompasses a blend of clinical, educational, and administrative duties. For those with a minimum of three years of experience, there is also the potential to step into a Division Chief position.

GI Hospitalist Position Highlights:

• 7 on/7 off work schedule
• On-call duties during the 7-day block, with a manageable call burden. The hospital is exploring telehealth options to further ease this responsibility.
• ERCP proficiency is required; EUS is optional, and an advanced fellowship is not necessary.
• Emergency Department physicians will handle admissions.
• Average daily patient census ranges from 6 to 12.
• Typically, the physician can expect to perform 1-2 procedures daily.
• We can accommodate J1 and H1B visa candidates.
• Attractive compensation package around $700k, with the added benefit of no state income tax in Tennessee!
• Sign-on bonus of $60k and relocation assistance of $15k.
• A fellowship stipend is available for those still in training.
