Job Summary

Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Scientist. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to advancing sodium-ion battery research by developing and characterizing composite cathode-catholyte polymer materials, functionalizing polymer surfaces, and studying their physical and electrochemical properties. AA/EOE

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. In Chemistry, Materials Science, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in sodium-ion batteries
Polymer electrolyte synthesis
Experience with laboratory instrumentation, including impedance spectroscopy.
Proficiency in microscopy techniques like SEM and TEM
Strong writing and communication skills
Ability to maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Description

Develop high-performance polymers for sodium-ion batteries.
Plan and execute research projects independently.
Supervise and mentor undergraduate researchers.
Prepare and submit manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals.
Present findings at scientific conferences.
Maintain and develop laboratory equipment and facilities.
Collaborate in group meetings and contribute to reports and publications.
