Registered Nurse Telemetry

$2774.40/week -

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac telemetry patients, monitoring vital signs, interpreting EKGs, and ensuring patient safety. Deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced hospital environment, following unit policies and patient experience standards.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess and monitor cardiac patients, interpreting telemetry strips and EKGs accurately.
  
  
• 
  Administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone as ordered.
  
  
• 
  Perform procedures including IV insertions, NGT placement, chest tube maintenance, and temporary pacemaker management.
  
  
• 
  Document patient care using Meditech system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with healthcare team members, including charge nurses, unit secretaries, and PCTs, to provide coordinated care.
  
  
• 
  Respond promptly to patient needs and call lights, fostering a patient-centered care environment.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid RN license with current certification in Missouri.
  
  
• 
  Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU experience.
  
  
• 
  Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips and EKGs.
  
  
• 
  Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated ability to care for post-cardiac procedural patients, including those post-catheterizations and open-heart surgery.
  
  
• 
  Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient interaction skills.
