Material Handler / Side Loader OperatorThe Material Handler / Side Loader Operator safely operates a high-capacity side loader and sit-down forklift to move, stage, and load metal materials throughout a busy steel manufacturing facility. This role supports production by ensuring efficient material flow, accurate material placement, and adherence to strict safety standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.ResponsibilitiesSafely operate a 30,000?lb capacity side loader to transport small and large metal materials throughout the facility.Use a sit-down forklift to move, stack, and stage materials in designated areas.Support production by staging raw materials and finished goods to and from machines and workstations.Load and unload materials from machines, racks, and storage locations according to production needs.Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to ensure correct sizes and quantities are moved and staged.Maintain continuous and efficient material flow across the facility to support on-time production.Follow all safety procedures and protocols when operating equipment and working around large pieces of steel, metal, copper, and brass.Inspect equipment before use and report any safety concerns or mechanical issues promptly.Keep work areas organized, clear of hazards, and compliant with facility safety standards.Communicate effectively with production and warehouse teams to prioritize material movement and staging.Adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Essential SkillsProven experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.Hands-on experience operating a sit-down forklift.Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices in an industrial setting.Ability to operate a high-capacity side loader or willingness to learn side loader operation.Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for material measurement.Comfort working around large pieces of steel, metal, copper, and brass.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus and accuracy.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a steel or metal manufacturing facility is a plus.Familiarity with material handling best practices in a warehouse or production setting.Strong communication skills to coordinate with production and warehouse teams.Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work assigned shifts and training schedule.Attention to detail when staging, loading, and measuring materials.Why Work Here?You join a company that invests in your growth, offering clear opportunities for promotion from within and plenty of room to advance your career. Safety is the top priority, and you follow strict safety protocols while operating material handling equipment and moving heavy materials. The environment is non-climate controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons. The position is on 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with training provided on 1st shift for approximately one month before transitioning to the regular schedule. Work attire should be appropriate for an industrial, manufacturing facility with a strong emphasis on safety.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Acworth, GA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
