Job Overview Echocardiography Technician II (Irvine) – an ultrasound imaging technician performing noninvasive heart imaging using ultrasound technology to assess cardiac structure and function. Operates specialized echocardiography equipment, produces diagnostic images, assists physicians, and ensures accurate data collection. Position Details This position is day shift; may vary slightly based on business needs. Includes flexibility for varying patient needs, weekends, on‑call responsibilities, and mandatory overtime. Responsibilities Perform echocardiograms, carotid and peripheral vascular studies, using non‑invasive procedure to examine heart valves, chambers, and blood vessels, produce images, evaluate valves and chambers, and make appropriate measurements. Conduct imaging and non‑imaging cardiovascular evaluations, including exercise tolerance tests, electrocardiograms, stress tests, and transesophageal echocardiography. Obtain patient history, explain procedure, address concerns, and follow established pre‑screening protocols. Recognize potentially serious conditions (e.g., pericardial effusion, intracardiac tumor, thrombi) and bring findings to the attention of the physician. Maintain echocardiography equipment in efficient operating order; perform minor preventative maintenance; contact outside service for major malfunctions. Qualifications Associated degree in Cardiovascular Ultrasound; Post‑High School Vocational/Specialized Training. Minimum 2 years experience performing M‑mode and 2‑dimensional echocardiograms and Doppler studies. Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiac Sonography (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). BLS CPR Card from the American Heart Association. For candidates with fewer than 2 years experience may be considered for Echo Tech I (Pay range: $42.46/hr – $53.08/hr – $63.69/hr).
