About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown/IMC/PCU setting for patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and intervention
• Manage patients on stable drip protocols including glycemic/insulin drip management
• Care for post-operative cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients including POD#1 CABG, AVR, MVR, AAA repair, lobectomy, and CEA
• Monitor and manage patients presenting with cardiac conditions including NSTEMI, STEMI, ACS, and temporary/permanent pacers
• Provide care for patients with complex medical conditions including sepsis, GI bleed, post-DKA, respiratory failure, and tracheostomy
• Operate and monitor advanced respiratory support equipment including HFNC and BiPAP

• Active RN license valid in Texas or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Stepdown, IMC, PCU, or comparable intermediate care setting
• Demonstrated experience with HFNC and BiPAP management
• Experience with cardiovascular and vascular patient populations
• BLS certification required; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS) may be required

• Experience caring for post-operative cardiac surgery patients (CABG, valve repair/replacement) from POD#1
• Familiarity with AAA repair, lobectomy, and carotid endarterectomy post-operative care
• Experience managing trachs, respiratory failure, and DKA recovery patients
• Background in pacer management and ACS patient care
