Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) - The Woodlands, Tx

Overview Texas Oncology is looking for a Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Texas Oncology team at The Woodlands location. This position is Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no on‑call duties. The role is level I, II, or Senior depending on candidate experience. Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences in the patient population, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for assessment and therapeutic management, and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history, and provide teaching and other instructional material, including psychosocial support. Facilitate clinical operations and patient care: manage medication refill requests, schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests, referrals, and future appointments; triage patient phone calls; facilitate communication between patient/family and the interdisciplinary team; assist patients in locating available community resources. Interprofessional collaboration: act as a resource for LPN/LVNs and medical assistants. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience. Education/Training LevelI Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Maintain continuing education requirements. Entry level – 0–3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred. LevelII Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred. LevelSenior Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology; oncology certification preferred.
