Payroll Clerk

YOUR MISSION (The Job Description) The Payroll Clerk will play an important role in coordinating the payroll office duties to ensure the safeguarding of assets and reliability of payroll records; reviews and processes time and attendance records to provide accurate and timely entry to payroll system. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for performing the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations and have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee's department. Qualifications THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties) This role will work closely with Payroll Manager to: Ensure that the daily audit and recording of payroll data is completed in an accurate and timely manner Communicate regularly with other company personnel to ensure all time and attendance records are complete and accurate Inform manager of any potential discrepancies or concerns Data entry of payroll information into payroll system Ensure the timely and accurate disbursement and issuance of employee payroll checks Filing and record keeping of departmental payroll data Perform other duties as assigned WHAT IT TAKES (The Qualities We Look For) Great team player with the ability to create excellent working relationships across the group Collaborative approach with all departments Ability to break down barriers and resolving potential conflicts swiftly and effortlessly Ability to think outside the box and approach all issues with a completely fresh approach Ability to anticipate needs and over deliver wherever possible Candidates must think on their feet and use their initiative to solve problems and deliver solutions Excellent customer relations, communication, presentation and organization skills of utmost importance Able to change direction and work on multiple project aspects at once Enthusiastic, passionate, able to enthuse and motivate others MUST HAVE'S Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States Use a computer and calculator Communicate effectively with co-workers and management Solve mathematically oriented problems Strong Excel skills WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through high school level courses in accounting principles, in addition to a minimum of six months experience as a payroll or accounting clerk or closely related experience Effective communication and customer service skills Knowledge of gaming/hotel industry Union payroll experience THE WORKING CONDITIONS Use a computer, keyboard, and 10-key or calculator Solve basic mathematical oriented problems Accurately follow established filing parameters Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, and hotel guests Accurately review, post, and audit relevant information Accurately accept and process verbal and written instruction Respond and quickly adapt to changing work situations and environments Ability to work under stringent deadlines and pressure Lift at least 50 pounds Follow all safety rules and regulations Operate a multi-line phone VALUABLE TRAITS 50% logical / 50% creative / 100% AWESOME Enjoy working with a team and alone as the situation dictates Adaptive, Flexible!
