Our facility specializes in treating complex psychiatric disorders, including acute schizophrenia, psychosis, and cognitive decline. As the Staffing Coordinator, you are the bridge between administrative strategy and bedside compassion. You ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. This position is eligible for an appointment incentive of $13,500 to the selected applicant(s) who agree to work for the facility for a minimum period of twelve (12) months! Your Impact includes:

Example of Duties and Responsibilities includes:

• Optimizing nursing assignments across all hospital units each shift to ensure 24/7 safety and high-quality patient care.
• Acting as the primary supervisor of nursing personnel in the Nurse Manager's absence, maintaining operational continuity.
• Keeping the Chief Nurse Officer (CNO) and Nurse Managers informed of critical unit issues through clear, concise, and timely reporting.
• Applying expert knowledge of hospital regulations and coordinating the hospital-wide Adult Protective Services (APS) policy.
• Leading the response to behavioral emergencies, modeling and teaching advanced de-escalation techniques to help patients manage acute emotional distress.
• Overseeing the delivery of both psychiatric and medical nursing services to ensure clinical protocols are strictly followed.
• Participating in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives and collaborating across departments to elevate patient outcomes.
• Acting as a professional bridge between the facility and families or outside organizations to further the hospital's mission.
• Directing the training of unit personnel and promoting continuing nursing education to ensure a highly skilled workforce.
• Ensuring the seamless flow of information between unit staff and other departments to maintain a synchronized care environment.
• Teaching healthcare professionals the psychological and physical tools needed to safely manage complex psychiatric behaviors, when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications includes:

• Education: None.
• Licensure/Certifications: Current West Virginia licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experiences as a Registered Nurse.
• Internal Applicants Only: Three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a Registered Nurse and/or a specialty nursing classification (i.e. Charge Nurse, Infection Control Nurse, QAPI Nurse, etc.) may substitute for the required experience. Substitution Information: Graduate coursework toward a degree in Nursing or a related field may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis or as determined by the Office of Shared Administration Equivalency Chart.

Sharpe, Jr. Hospital holds accreditation from The Joint Commission and certification from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The hospital offers a wide range of services to patients, either committed to the hospital through civil commitment or, in the case of forensic patients, ordered through the judicial system. Through ongoing collaboration with West Virginia University's Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry, a variety of medical and clinical professionals partner with the hospital's own staff to work diligently with patients to achieve a smooth transition back to the community after discharge.
