DSV – Global Transport and Logistics Location: USA – New Albany, Briscoe Parkway Division: Solutions Job Posting Title Operations Manager Job Details Time Type: Full Time Schedule: 2A – 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM Sun, Mon, Tues and every other Wed. Position Summary Under the direction of the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day site operations, including the supervision of warehousing, receiving and shipping of products, space utilization, equipment management, labor scheduling, performance appraisals, and problem resolution. The role also involves continuous improvement initiatives and client service management to meet service level agreements and quality system requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and enforce systems and procedures to manage operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably. Manage operations to meet productivity and service goals while complying with client SLAs. Drive continuous improvement efforts, proposing ideas and cost‑saving measures. Achieve client‑specified KPIs and comply with the quality system. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques while supervising staff. Collaborate with Human Resources on hiring, training, and performance evaluation. Leverage the right people at the right time to deliver results. Inform senior management and client representatives of critical operational issues. Plan daily work schedules based on work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions. Plan warehouse space reorganization and assess staffing and supplies needs. Ensure effective training is delivered and that SOPs are followed. Maintain high motivation and focus on customer satisfaction. Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members. Support adherence to SOPs and conduct routine staff meetings. Management Information Systems Ensure team proficiency with required information systems (including WMS). Purchase necessary computer hardware and software per corporate IT policies. Stay informed about changes in technology and client systems. Customer Management Maintain high customer service standards across all functions. Provide operational and administrative support to client accounts. Maintain contact with all functions and respond to client requests. Lead or attend meetings with key customers to discuss issues. Coordinate management of supplier/customer visits. Promote positive client relationships through excellent service. Budgeting and Financials Support development of the annual operating budget. Manage controls to ensure service level and financial goals are met. Ensure budgeting and pricing activities comply with contract guidelines. Equipment & Facilities Maintain company standards for sanitation, maintenance, security, and housekeeping. Train team members on material handling equipment. Monitor new technology and make relevant recommendations. Safety Meet safety metrics and promote a proactive safety culture. Audit warehouse compliance with safety, security, and quality rules. Ensure adherence to all statutory health and safety requirements. Other Duties Work overtime as dictated by business needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Manage warehouse operations supervisors and support staff. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred. 7 years experience in logistics/distribution or related environment. 5 years experience in a supervisory role. Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate. Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, PowerPoint). Knowledge of applicable WMS systems. English reading, writing, and verbal proficiency. Strong attention to detail, organizational, communication, leadership, and planning skills. Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required. Adaptability to change and fast‑paced work environment. Ability to lift 21–50 pounds, reach above shoulder, and perform bending, walking, and standing as required.
