RN Cardiac Cath Lab Pre/Post PACU

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the cardiac cath lab provides specialized pre-procedure, post-procedure, and PACU recovery care for patients with vascular, electrical conduction, coronary diseases, and structural heart conditions. This role demands expertise in telemetry monitoring, cardiac care, and acute procedural support in a fast-paced environment. The nurse collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during all phases of cardiac interventions. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Monitor telemetry and vital signs continuously for cardiac patients.
• Support patient recovery in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Assist with procedural support in both acute and non-acute cardiac care situations.
• Collaborate with the cardiac care team to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Ensure patient safety and respond promptly to cardiac emergencies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments and interventions.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in CVICU, cardiac care, or PACU.
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in a cardiac catheterization lab.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system within the cardiac specialty.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced cardiac care environment.
• Occasional weekend shifts may be required based on unit needs.
• Must have the ability to respond to emergent cardiac situations promptly.

Scheduling:

• 40 hours per week, scheduled as four 10-hour day shifts.
• Rotation includes day, evening, and night (DEN) shifts.
• Weekend shifts assigned occasionally according to unit requirements.
