Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 3x12 or 4x10 Hours | Shift start times vary (6:45 AM or 9:00 AM) | Weekend availability required | Expected 60 hours per two-week period; traveler may be called off for up to one 12-hour shift per two-week period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Operating Room within an acute hospital setting
• Adapt to varying shift start times and maintain flexibility for scheduling needs
• Float to like units within the facility or affiliate hospitals as needed to meet staffing requirements
• Participate in on-call coverage limited to call-off situations only
• Work a minimum of 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
• Complete required facility onboarding modules prior to start and annually thereafter

Required Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license required (pending license accepted for submission; license must be in hand prior to offer)
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required
• BLS certification required
• First-time travelers not accepted; prior travel experience required
• Must be willing to work weekends as required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• All requested time off must be disclosed and included at time of submission
• 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required during compliance process prior to start
• Hepatitis B vaccine required; titers and declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• CNOR certification preferred
• Experience with Epic electronic health records system preferred
