Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with specialized oncology experience to provide exceptional patient care in a busy oncology and hematology unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing complex patient needs, administering chemotherapy, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and other IV therapies in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs, assess clinical status, and interpret EKG strips to ensure patient safety.
• Float across Stepdown and Advanced Care units, providing support to the nursing team as needed.
• Complete required certifications and competency assessments prior to start date.
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health record system.
• Respond swiftly to patient emergencies and collaborate with physicians for care adjustments.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in applicable state or current compact license.
• At least 1.5 years of recent oncology, stepdown, or PCU experience with a documented 1:5 patient ratio.
• Strong knowledge of chemotherapy, sickle cell care, and EPIC charting system.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS, with the ability to read and interpret EKG strips.
• Prior travel nurse experience preferred; comfortable floating across units.
• Demonstrated ability to manage blood disorders, drips, and wound care.
