The role involves leading and performing development efforts such as analysis, design, coding, and testing. This teammate brings expertise in ServiceNow products, services, development, bug fixes, code reviews, ensuring quality and security in ServiceNow's ITSM and Mobile products. In this role you will build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes. Collaborate with product owners to understand detailed requirements, design and implement new products and features, and enhance the existing product suite used by multiple business lines. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include reviewing code, development, testing, defect remediation, and implementation of application‑specific development requests. Partner with platform architecture, product owners, and business partners for technical designs and implementations to ensure requirements are met on the ServiceNow platform. Provide request review and feedback including estimated effort, dependencies, and sustainability during prioritization meetings, aligning to Truist’s mission and goals. This position is office‑centric 5 days a week in one of the following locations: Atlanta GA, Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, or Wilson NC. Certification Required – ServiceNow's Certified System Administrator (CSA). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Independently design, develop, test, and maintain complex software components and services addressing business and user requirements. Implement advanced features and enhancements using established coding standards, architectural patterns, and development best practices. Lead code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance. Collaborate with cross‑functional technical teams to plan and execute technical initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of solutions. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software defects and production issues, applying root‑cause analysis and corrective actions. Participate actively in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design discussions, development, testing, deployment, and support. Apply secure coding practices, testing strategies, and documentation standards to ensure software quality and compliance with organizational guidelines. Mentor and support junior engineers to foster technical growth and adherence to best practices. Utilize and contribute to existing frameworks, tools, and technologies to enhance application development across relevant technology domains. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field with 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and training. In‑depth knowledge of information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree and ten or more years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Knowledge of ServiceNow supporting specific applications, technology platforms, programming languages, systems, or business segments. Banking or financial services experience and strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with analytical and debugging skills. Professional experience building high‑quality apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level. Experience with open source tools and frameworks. Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Strong understanding of SOA and/or Open‑API methodologies and service architectures. Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies. Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling). Experience with messaging systems (e.g., MQ and JMS). Experience with build tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins. Proven ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests.
