Job Opportunity – Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse – New Jersey

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Newark, New Jersey

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required. Holiday coverage required: must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's). Ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2 for critical care patients, and 1:3 for step-down patients. Floating to Pediatrics (1:4-5) and NICU (1:2-3) within skillset as needed.

• 19-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit supporting critical care and step-down patients with variable acuity
• Part of one of the largest pediatric critical care programs in the state with 24/7 intensivist-led coverage
• EPIC charting system required; previous travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Comprehensive cardiac and medical/surgical ICU populations including support for nationally recognized cardiac programs
• Interdisciplinary team support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services
• Navy blue scrubs provided; locals accepted at the same rate as travelers

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey or Compact State RN license required at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS (NRP preferred)
• Minimum 2+ years of PICU critical care experience required; 1 year of cardiac experience strongly preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Proficiency in advanced pediatric critical care skills including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, vasoactive drips, and management of complex airway cases
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, TPN/Lipids, chest tube management, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Previous travel nursing experience required; must be separated from this health system for at least 1 year if previously employed
