Important Training Requirement: Candidates must train on 1st shift for at least 2 months before transitioning to 2nd shift. The timing of the permanent shift transition will depend on training performance.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace TIG Welder with hands-on experience welding thin-gauge stainless steel and other high-precision materials .

This position is best suited for welders with an aerospace, precision fabrication, or similar high-quality manufacturing background. Strong GTAW/TIG welding skills, thin-wall tubing experience, blueprint interpretation, and the ability to maintain tight tolerances are essential.

Weld Test Required

Candidates must successfully complete an in-person weld test using thin material and/or a weld positioner/turntable.

The test involves welding material approximately 0.035" thick (about 21 gauge) . Candidates must be comfortable welding thin material without burn-through and maintaining consistent weld quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform manual TIG/GTAW welding on stainless steel and other precision materials.
• Weld components to engineering specifications, drawings, procedures, and required tolerances.
• Work with thin-gauge and thin-wall tubing, including approximately 0.028"–0.035" wall thickness .
• Weld tubing and components in various positions, including horizontal and vertical applications.
• Operate weld positioners/turntables as required.
• Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Make appropriate process adjustments within established procedures to achieve product conformance.
• Inspect completed welds and accurately document work and inspection results.
• Perform rework when required while maintaining quality and production requirements.
• Support basic setup and stanchion setup/welding activities.
• Maintain accurate production records and required paperwork.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and quality requirements.
• Support Lean initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Obtain and maintain required welding qualifications and certifications.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of verifiable welding experience , including TIG/GTAW.
• Hands-on experience welding thin-gauge materials .
• Experience with stainless steel welding; experience with Inconel, titanium, or aluminum is highly valuable.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, weld symbols, and written specifications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read, write, and understand technical instructions and procedures.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while contributing effectively to a team.
• Ability to successfully complete the required thin-material weld test .
• Ability to meet required vision standards, with corrective lenses if needed.
• Ability to work safely around welding equipment, Argon gas, and high-heat environments.

Highly Preferred Experience

• Aerospace or aircraft welding experience.
• TIG/GTAW welding of stainless steel, aluminum, Inconel, and titanium .
• Precision fabrication or aerospace component manufacturing.
• Thin-wall tubing welding.
• Experience welding approximately 0.035" material and tubing as small as approximately 3/16" OD .
• Experience welding on a turntable/weld positioner .
• AWS D17.1 or other aerospace welding certification experience.
• Experience working within AS9100 or similar aerospace quality environments.
• Vocational welding training, apprenticeship, or formal welding program.

Certification

• Must obtain AWS D17.1 certification within 6 months of employment .

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will have an aircraft/aerospace-type welding background , excellent TIG/GTAW skills, and proven ability to fuse extremely thin metal without burn-through.

Candidates should be comfortable working with thin-wall stainless steel tubing , maintaining tight tolerances, interpreting technical drawings, and producing welds that meet rigorous quality standards. The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team is essential.

Physical & Work Environment

• Primarily stationary while operating welding equipment.
• Frequent use of welding equipment and machinery.
• Occasional movement of parts and materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Exposure to Argon gas and high-temperature welding environments .
• Must be able to reposition as needed to operate equipment and access parts.
• Required to follow applicable PPE, safety, quality, and FOD-control procedures.
