Description The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing, and customer-focused individual to join our Welcome Center Team as a Member Service Representative. You'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional experience for our members. This exciting opportunity is in Perth Amboy, NJ, just 5 miles west of New York City. Our organization has served the community since 1912, serving over 6,000 members through Healthy Living, Youth Development, and Social Responsibility initiatives. Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the Member Service Representative will assist with all aspects of member enrollment, program participant registration, facility access control, and ensuring top-tier customer service. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the accuracy of membership data, answering phone calls, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the lobby and café areas. The representative also supports and promotes the organization’s mission by embodying the core values of Honesty, Caring, Responsibility, Respect, and Faith, while demonstrating cause‑driven leadership through the YMCA Leadership Competencies: Mission Advancement, Collaboration, Operational Effectiveness, and Personal Growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deliver exceptional service to members, guests, and program participants both in-person and over the phone, supporting member retention efforts Process membership applications and take photos for membership cards, ensuring accuracy and preventing duplicates Conduct interviews and tours tailored to the needs of prospective members; promote and sell memberships Accurately manage cash flow and maintain the cash drawer at the work station Safeguard the safety and security of staff, members, and volunteers by monitoring the scan station and addressing any invalid memberships Build strong relationships with members and the YMCA community; facilitate connections among them Address and resolve membership concerns; promptly notify the supervisor of any unusual situations or unresolved issues Adhere to the Y’s dress code, including wearing a name tag, staff shirt, black or khaki pants, and comfortable shoes or sneakers (no open-toe shoes) Attend monthly staff meetings on Saturday or Sunday evenings when required Benefits Include Monthly team training Free YMCA staff membership (restrictions apply) 403(b) retirement savings plan – eligible upon hire Paid NJ sick leave Subsidized child care Discounted program fees YMCA retirement fund – when eligible (with 8% Y contribution, 4% employee) Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older Must be bilingual in Spanish Must have a flexible schedule and be available: weekday mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends Proficient computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn the membership CRM system Proficient in accurately managing cash flow The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. #J-18808-Ljbffr
