Barback - Big Chill Island House

Summary of Position: With three bars at Big Chill Island House, we're slinging cocktails galore, and we're looking for Barbacks to join our motivated team! Barbacks at Island House are responsible for backing up bartenders. This includes many responsibilities, but their overall purpose is to make sure that things are running smoothly at the bar. Duties can include anything from replacing bottles to preparing garnishes, cleaning spills, and keeping bar stations stocked at all times. Must Enjoy the Ride!


Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for receiving, organizing, and shelving beer and liquor deliveries
• Prep freshly squeezed juice, mixes and garnishes at the prescribed par level needed for each day
• Stock cups, napkins, straws and ice at the start of day to ensure stations are ready for business
• Replace kegs and retrieve bottles from the walk-in cooler, and liquor storage
• Wash and restock speed pours containers and mixing tools as needed
• Clean spills at the bar and at customers' tables as needed
• Monitor stations and re-stock cups, napkins, and straws and ice throughout shift as needed
• Assist the bartender with other tasks as needed
• Empty trash and recycling bins to correct bins and/or dumpsters
• Restock bottles and maintain inventory at each bar before and after each shift and as needed
• Wipe down the bar and tabletops before and after each shift and as needed
• Assist in closing duties
• Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the business every time

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Some relevant experience helpful
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed, ability to balance personal & professional life
• Must work nights and weekends
• Professional appearance, punctual, reliable
• Hospitality soul with guest friendly demeanor
• Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to work in very fast paced environment
• Advanced written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
• Well organized
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, word processing, spreadsheet, internet, POS
• Frequently walk and occasionally bend over, twist, kneel, climb, stoop and crouch
• This position requires the ability to lift up to 55 pounds and maneuver 170 pounds as well as climbing up and down stairs quite frequently during shifts
