Operating Room Nurse

The Operating Room Nurse provides critical patient care within the operating room setting, utilizing scientific judgment and critical thinking to anticipate and plan for patient needs. As a vital member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and other personnel to ensure optimal patient outcomes in accordance with state regulations, AORN standards, and established hospital policies.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing the operating room by ensuring necessary supplies and instruments are available.
• Scrubbing and assisting surgeons during surgical procedures, utilizing aseptic techniques.
• Updating physician preference cards and communicating effectively with surgical teams.
• Managing timeliness of surgical cases and coordinating with families regarding patient care.
• Supervising and mentoring support staff providing patient care in the operating room.
• Floating between multiple locations as needed to support surgical services.

Qualifications include:

• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting.
• Experience with Cerner EMR system.
• Knowledge and experience in various service lines, including General, Urology, Spine, GYN, Ortho, Plastics, Breast, and Robotics.

Additional requirements include:

AHCA Fingerprinting clearance is required prior to the start of employment.

Location: Multiple locations within the region, including various facilities in city, state.
