About the Position

Job Title: OR Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 or 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: IV skills, surgical care knowledge, robotics experience, scrubbing required Description: 50-mile radius rule applies. All submissions must include a copy of the candidate's unexpired driver's license. Licensing hits must be disclosed at the time of submission. The unit consists of 15 suites with 55-70 cases per day. All procedures include same day and overnight stays. The RN is responsible for preop care only. Charge Nurse and House Supervisor experience preferred. Experience with OR techs is beneficial. Current EMR is Sunrise; EPIC go-live is scheduled. Day shift options are available for 8-hour or 10-hour shifts. Typical shifts run from 6-2, 7-3, 8-4, or 9-5. Weeknight call requirements consist of 1-2 second calls per schedule. Call is a 24-hour commitment from Saturday to Sunday. Rotating weekends and additional 24-hour on-call commitment required. There is no mandatory call or standby requirement. The call response time is 30 minutes. Floating requirements involve working in the OR holding area. Scrub color and dress code are provided by the facility. This position involves working in a preop area referred to as a surgical center. Cancellation policy is 2 shifts per 13-week contract. Charting system utilized is Allscripts. BSN is not required. Willingness to wait for license submission is expected. The position is set in an acute care setting. Participation in weekend rotation and on-call schedule is mandatory. One weekend shift and one secondary call day per scheduling period.
