Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit managing diagnoses including COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, chest pain rule-out, CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via telemetry
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, and perform IV starts and maintenance
• Administer blood products and manage oxygen delivery modalities including BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and standard oxygen administration
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activations as required
• Maintain strict isolation precautions and proper PPE use throughout patient care activities

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR is a hard requirement
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Must not be a first-time traveler; prior travel nursing experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with non-invasive airway management including BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
• Familiarity with managing patients in substance withdrawal and seizure disorder protocols
• Demonstrated ability to float to other units as needed
