Maintenance Supervisor

**2nd Shift Position** Job Summary: This role provides leadership and direction to the Maintenance department and its staff members. Required Qualifications:
- College courses in Maintenance related discipline; Millwright or Electrical certificate of qualification is preferred
- Strong communicator in the English Language, both written and oral
- Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in Maintenance position in industry;
- Must have experience in welding facility
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- High level of time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lead a team
- Strong technical and problem solving skills
- Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
- Excellent attendance
- Ability to interact with the Management Team in a professional manner to continually enhance the company's performance
- Desire to learn the business, understand the production process by walking the floor, and participating in production meetings
- A complete hands on approach is required to assist the plant in developing into a successful and profitable division of Martinrea, a multi-billion dollar company
- Ability to work independently without supervision and with minimum direction
- Ability to work in a team environment and be both a team player and team leader
- Ability to manage and direct subordinates on the day-to-day tasks in a fast paced environment
- Ability to mentor and guide subordinates to achieve overall departmental goals and objectives
- Respecting and understanding of the Customer/Supplier relationship
- Adopt a common sense approach to identifying and addressing problems and control weaknesses
- Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe condition
- Supervise, train, develop and conduct evaluations of the Maintenance department
- Supervise maintenance related functions:
- PM program/ schedule that ensures machine robustness along with the coordination of production schedule needs
- Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained properly to avoid interruption of production and to minimize unnecessary downtime
- Analyze machine downtime to identify and correct mechanical problems
- Ensure availability of replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtime
- Maintain maintenance related records
- To co-ordinate with outside contractors on equipment repairs and to source the most effective repairs and upgrades cost
- Provide input and ensure completion of CI projects
- Able to stand in for Maintenance Manager in absence
- Ensure proper planning and control for all areas of responsibility in Maintenance department (e.g. labor, overtime, equipment, travel, etc).
- Maintains clear written records
- Creates and ensures a safe and secure work environment
- Achieve goals and objectives that are set out each year by the Maintenance Manager
- Contribute to ongoing improvements to throughput, inventory and operational expense.
- Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook
