Lead Project Manager | Ground-Up Multifamily Construction

Salary: $130,000 – $160,000
Location: Carlstadt, NJ

A well-established New Jersey real estate developer and builder with more than 50 years of experience delivering large-scale multifamily, mixed-use, industrial, and commercial developments is seeking a Lead Project Manager to oversee ground-up multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through turnover. The company has developed thousands of residential units and maintains one of the strongest multifamily pipelines in New Jersey, offering excellent long-term stability and career growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of ground-up multifamily construction from preconstruction through project completion.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, and cost reporting.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, owners, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee procurement, buyout, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Mentor Assistant Project Managers and support field teams throughout construction.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners.
• Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to keep projects moving forward.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor or Developer.
• Experience managing ground-up multifamily construction projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and construction sequencing.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders and leading project teams.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Compensation & Benefits
