Driller Helper

Driller HelperThe Driller Helper supports geotechnical drilling operations by assisting with the setup, operation, and maintenance of drilling equipment while ensuring safe work practices on-site. This role involves handling materials, collecting samples, performing routine maintenance, and working closely with the Driller to ensure efficient and accurate subsurface investigations. The Driller Helper maintains a positive customer service attitude and demonstrates an understanding of ECS Core Values.ResponsibilitiesAssists with drilling operations, including borings and Geoprobe workLocates boring positions in the field using maps, plans, or GPS systemsRecords required drilling data accuratelyReports project-specific issues to the Project Manager or SupervisorPerforms routine maintenance on drill rigs and support trucks and reports repair needsFollows company safety procedures to maintain a safe work environmentLoads drill rigs and support vehicles with necessary supplies each dayCompletes timesheets and field documentation promptly and accuratelyCares for and cleans assigned company vehicles, drilling equipment, and other toolsMaintains professional behavior and quality standardsWorks out of town and on non-standard schedules as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School diploma or GED required0 years of related experienceIf driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is requiredOSHA 40 certification (preferred)Strong oral and written communication skillsAbility to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plansAbility to interpret field dataBasic mechanical aptitudeAbility to work effectively under close supervisionHands-on experience with drill rigs, drilling procedures, and sampling methods (preferred)Ability to travel overnight as needed for project-related workMilitary QualificationsThe following US Military ranks would qualify for this position:E-4About UsECS Group of Companies (ECS) was founded in 1988 with the goal to raise the standards of professional engineering consulting.
