Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) specialist position located in Falls Church, Virginia. The position involves providing surgical support for complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases in a busy healthcare environment. Candidates must be experienced in adult scrub procedures, with a focus on cardiac surgeries, and demonstrate strong critical thinking and multitasking skills.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 10 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week, from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Monday through Thursday.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Virginia license, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, and state registration. A minimum of 2 years recent scrub experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, including procedures such as Coronary Artery Bypass, Valve Repair and Replacement, Structural Heart Procedures (TAVR, Mitraclip), and Transplants. Certificated in adult scrub experience; pediatric experience is a plus. Ability to assist in reoperative and emergent cases.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with research protocols, excellent communication skills, team player attitude, and participation in department professional activities.
• Additional Information:
  • Must be able to work after scheduled shifts, with call required approximately after every scheduled shift from 05:30 AM to 06:30 AM.
  • No floating expectations; the candidate will not be required to float to other departments.
  • Holiday rotations are based on departmental need, covering one major and one minor holiday.
  • No Epic access required.
  • The assignment begins on 07/27/2026, with a commitment of approximately 13 weeks, including any requested time off during holidays.
  • Parking is available on-site at no cost.
