Key Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric ICU patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes when necessary
• Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
• Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Interacts with patients and families to communicate care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions
• Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals to appropriate personnel based on patient care needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; ICU experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program
• Strong ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
