Staff Nurse - ACS-OBGYN - PD

About The Role The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse (Maternal Child) position is to administer total patient care based on individualized needs of assigned patients/families in accordance with professional nursing standards and evidence‑based nursing. The Staff Nurse will utilize knowledge and demonstrate competency in Obstetrics, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecology, Infertility, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogynecology, Urodynamics, Reproductive Choice, Pediatrics Lactation Counseling, and other related programs. Expected behaviors include assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing interventions and evaluation of the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of the patient in pre‑procedural, procedural and post‑procedural phases of care. Responsibilities Provides independent/interdependent/dependent procedural care in accordance with nursing scope of practice and provides complex nursing skills and clinical judgment as needed. Ensures on a continuing basis that all required nursing interventions are performed for assigned patients as observed by Director. Communicates to all levels of health care team and management necessary information and/or unusual occurrences in accordance with established UH or ACC policies and procedures and assessed patient’s need. Administers, monitors, and documents medications and immunizations in accordance with established UH or ACC policies and procedures. Communicates effectively with patients and other members of the health care team. Provides effective communication of all necessary information and/or unusual occurrences in accordance with established UH policies and procedures. Documents all aspects of patient care via the electronic medical record and/or manual records as necessary in accordance with Nursing and UH standards. Develops and maintains good human relations skills consistent with the principles of the Service Excellence Standards with employees, patients, medical staff, and visitors. Develops and/or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with UH standards and State/Federal regulations. Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current license to practice in the State of New Jersey (BSN preferred). BLS required. Preferred Two years’ experience in Maternal – Child; Obstetrical and Gynecological specialties, having worked in an Ambulatory Care Service/outpatient care setting. ANA certification preferred. Ambulatory Care Certification preferred. Two years’ experience in specialty procedures to include but not limited to: Fetal Monitoring, Non‑Stress Testing. Lactation Counseling Certification (CLC) preferred.
