Industrial Maintenance Technician

Description The Maintenance Technician performs both preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on a wide range of mechanical systems in a production and manufacturing environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting issues, performing corrective maintenance, and supporting the fabrication and installation of new equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment according to established schedules and procedures. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime. Work with motors, engines, large tanks, valves, pumps, plumbing, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems. Troubleshoot mechanical issues on equipment such as mixers, conveyors, packagers, belts, and drives, and implement effective corrective actions. Repair and maintain mechanical systems including motors, pumps, valves, tanks, and related components in a manufacturing setting. Assist with fabrication and installation of new equipment and modifications to existing machinery as needed. Use basic automation and control knowledge to support equipment performance and reliability. Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and ensure equipment is safe and ready for operation. Document maintenance activities and repairs to support equipment history and continuous improvement. Follow all safety guidelines and plant procedures while working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Other duties as assigned Requirements Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or related field preferred. At least 3 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a production or manufacturing setting. knowledge about food manufacturing equipment is more advantageous. Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including motors, pumps, valves, tanks, mixers, conveyors, packagers, belts, and drives. Hands-on experience performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on industrial equipment. Ability to work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems in a plant environment. Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to diagnosing equipment issues. Comfort working with plumbing and fluid-handling systems in a manufacturing facility. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience and facilities that handle food manufacturing equipment are more advantageous. Any exposure to PLCs or automation systems used in manufacturing. Electrical maintenance experience related to industrial equipment. Experience as a maintenance technician in a high-volume production setting. Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics beyond basic operation and repair. Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance programs and contribute to reliability improvements.
