About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: GI Lab Duration: 12 months Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years GI RN hospital experience License: Active PERM CA License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Minimum of 2 years GI RN hospital experience Ability to recover/PACU Experience with patient ratios of 1:1 Experience with Epic charting system Availability for on-call duty and weekend shifts Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for the GI Lab. The role involves providing care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a GI RN hospital setting. Candidates should be capable of recovering patients in PACU. The schedule requires weekend coverage and on-call responsibilities. Response time for on-call duty is 30 minutes. Key procedures include EGD, EUS, Colonoscopy, and ERCP. The daily census in the unit ranges from 2 to 5 patients. Must be skilled in administering conscious sedation and airway management. Experience with additional special equipment is required. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Patient age groups served include adults and geriatrics. Candidates should be familiar with managing various patient diagnoses such as GI bleed, anemia, and abdominal pain. Knowledge of hospital policies regarding call requirements and floating between units is essential. Travel experience may be needed as part of the role.
