Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description

The Machine Operator will operate CNC machines in a high-quality manufacturing environment, performing setups, monitoring production, and basic troubleshooting to ensure parts meet precise specifications. This role includes loading and unloading raw materials and finished parts, conducting routine maintenance checks, and completing detailed inspections using precision measuring instruments and technical blueprints.

• Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently to meet production goals and quality standards.
• Perform machine setup activities, including preparing tools, fixtures, and materials according to work instructions and blueprints.
• Monitor CNC machine operations, making necessary adjustments to maintain accurate dimensions and surface quality.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into and out of CNC machines, including lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds.
• Change and adjust machine tools and offsets as needed to meet production specifications and part requirements.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on CNC machines and related equipment, and promptly report any mechanical issues or abnormalities.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
• Interpret and work from technical blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to ensure parts meet exact specifications and tolerances.
• Use hand and power tools as needed in support of production, machining, and part preparation activities.
• Support the CNC machining center with general production tasks, including material handling, part preparation, and machine support.
• Perform quality checks on machined parts using hand measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Stand for extended periods while operating machines and performing inspections, maintaining focus and attention to detail throughout the shift.

• Experience operating machines in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery and mechanical components.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers for accurate quality checks.
• Ability to interpret and follow technical blueprints and work instructions.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools in a production setting.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliable job tenure.
• Capability to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time while operating machines and performing inspections.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Willingness to support both general production tasks and CNC machine operation as needed.

• Experience working as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with CNC machines and basic CNC operation is beneficial.
• Comfort using a variety of hand and power tools in production and machining tasks.
• Experience performing inspections using gauges, tape measures, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a production team and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.
• Strong character and dependable work history, demonstrating reliability and commitment.
• Adaptability to different tasks within the CNC machining center, from general support to machine operation.

The role is based in a brand-new, state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility that is very clean and safety-focused. Candidates should be open to working various shifts, including weekday and weekend schedules on both day and overnight shifts. You will spend most of the workday standing while operating CNC machines and performing inspections, and you will regularly handle parts and materials that may be awkward and weigh up to 50 pounds. The environment is production-driven, with access to modern CNC equipment, precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers, gauges, and tape measures, as well as hand and power tools used in machining and general production support.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ellabell, GA.

The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $23.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
