Dual-Crane Rigging Specialist (RI Licensed)

Overview The role of Rigger at Two Way Cranes entails managing and executing rigging operations to support safe and efficient lifting activities. Responsibilities include setting up and dismantling rigging equipment, attaching and securing loads, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Additionally, the Rigger provides guidance and support to crane operators and other site personnel, promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence. Through skilled rigging practices and adherence to safety protocols, the Rigger plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of lifting operations, safeguarding employee well-being, and upholding the company’s reputation. Responsibilities Install, adjust, and dismantle rigging equipment, cables, pulleys, winches, slings, shackles, spreader bars and chain blocks. Plan and execute dual crane lifts, ensuring proper coordination and communication between operators. Must hold an Intermediate Rigger High Risk Work Licence, demonstrating expertise in dual crane lift operations. Assess load distribution and rigging requirements specific to dual crane lifts to ensure safety and compliance with licensing requirements. Ensure all rigging equipment is set up correctly and safely according to lifting plans. Attach and secure loads to lifting equipment using appropriate rigging methods and gear. Inspect loads to ensure they are safely rigged and balanced. Follow all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct pre-lift inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Provide clear and precise signals and instructions to crane operators. Maintain effective communication with crane operators, dogmen, and other site personnel. Coordinate lifting operations to ensure smooth and efficient execution. Regularly inspect rigging equipment to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any defects or issues with rigging gear to supervisors for repair or replacement. Maintain and store rigging equipment properly when not in use. Maintain accurate records of rigging operations, including equipment inspections and incident reports. Complete necessary paperwork related to safety checks, rigging plans, and compliance documentation. Report any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly. Provide guidance and support to other team members involved in lifting operations. Promote a culture of safety, diligence, and continuous improvement within the team. Assist in training new employees on rigging practices and safety procedures. Qualifications and Licences Have extensive experience in rigging operations within the mobile crane and construction industry. Have a strong understanding of rigging equipment, safety protocols, and industry standards, with proven expertise in setting up, adjusting, and dismantling rigging gear. Key skills include load attachment, securing, hazard identification, and equipment inspection. Possess strong communication and coordination skills to effectively collaborate with crane operators, dogmen, and other site personnel, ensuring safe and efficient lifting operations. Demonstrate a commitment to safety and compliance, promoting a culture of diligence and continuous improvement in all rigging activities. Must hold a High Risk Work Licence for rigging, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the ability to perform high-risk tasks safely and effectively. Basic Rigging High Risk Work Licence (RB) allows for basic rigging tasks, including structural steel erection, hoists, and static lines. Intermediate Rigging High Risk Work Licence (RI) covers all basic rigging tasks plus dual lifts, tilt slabs, and demolition rigging.
