Director, Business & Legal Affairs

Job Description Fox Entertainment is seeking a Director, Business & Legal Affairs to support a broad range of dealmaking and legal matters across creator partnerships, production, and emerging technology initiatives. This role will work with business and legal affairs leadership as an execution partner, helping to negotiate and implement complex agreements in a fast‑evolving media landscape. The department sits at the intersection of traditional entertainment, the creator economy, and technology‑driven production. The ideal candidate is a highly versatile executive who thrives in a startup‑like environment within a large media company. Responsibilities Assist in negotiating, and drafting a wide range of agreements, including production, creator, and licensing deals Support internal stakeholders by providing guidance on deal terms and risk considerations Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams including production, ad sales, technology, and business teams to help execute partnerships and initiatives Provide support on technology‑related initiatives, including workflow development, task management and integration Assist in addressing legal and policy considerations related to new technologies and content Contribute to the development of internal processes, templates, and best practices Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment Qualifications JD degree and active member of California bar; will consider those eligible for Registered In‑House Counsel status (Rule 9.46) 8+ years of legal experience (top‑tier law firm and/or in‑house media company experience strongly preferred) Experience negotiating production, talent, and/or technology agreements Strong legal judgment, drafting, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with a practical, solutions‑oriented mindset and keen attention to detail Ability to work well with clients and peers Ability to support multiple projects at one time and solve problems while working under pressure Nice to have: strong interest AI‑related legal or business issues in media and content Nice to have: combination of law firm and in‑house experience Nice to have: ability to operate as a versatile, execution‑focused partner Benefits Pay range: $128,000.00–175,000.00 annually (dependent on education, skills, experience, and location). Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) plan; paid time off; and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
